The Clean Data Delusion

Most organizations are treating Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) as a plug-and-play upgrade. They assume that if they feed a Large Language Model (LLM) enough PDFs and internal docs, the “math” will eventually find the truth.

It won’t.

LLMs operate on statistical probability—predicting the next token based on patterns, not understanding. When you move from the vast, generic web to a specialized corporate domain, that statistical “guesswork” becomes a liability. The missing link isn’t more data; it’s a validated fact basis. Without a formal taxonomy to anchor your prompts, you aren’t building an intelligence; you’re building a very confident, very expensive hallucination engine.

If your AI is “well-formed but nonsensical,” are you actually managing knowledge, or just automating your existing confusion?
